Bluegrass Grass Hay

Harvest Date - August 2021

The beautiful hay we carry called "bluegrass" is actually a hybrid seed my farmer has developed. It is an orchard/bluegrass seed. For those of you that are used to orchard grass, this will be similar except it has a beautiful blue/green color. After viewing more that 30 farms and countless hays, it just didn't do justice to call my hay "orchard", so I have chosen to call it "bluegrass". It is a wide bladed, leafy variety that is soft and pliable. Nutritionally, it is equivalent to orchard grass.

Senior bunny approved

Bought for older bunny (12 years old) who just had a health issue ( stasis bladder sludge) it is now by far his favorite hay! Even when mixed with other hay he will always pick out the blue grass first

Wonderful hay!

So the hay smells fantastic and at first my pigs loved it. But, because they're picky little potatoes, they soon decided it didn't meet their standards. Most of my friends who also have guinea pigs recommend this hay--and honestly, I do too, since it's not the hay's fault my pigs are so spoiled! It's a great alternative to timothy (I'm allergic), and ultimately my only suggestion to anyone considering trying this hay out out is to make sure you buy a small size first before going all in lol. Will buy bluegrass again in future, either for this herd or the next :)
