I ordered 5lbs of the 1st cut Timothy to try for my bunny as his local supply was out. I was so happy and pleased to see the quality of the hay and more importantly how much my rabbit eats it. He needs Timothy hay for digestive reasons. I will be ordering more!
I have two male guinea pigs. I have tried lots of hay including the common US pet store bagged hays and bales of hay from my local feed store on the West Coast of the US. I decided to try KMS Hayloft after I saw their hay recommended by a guinea pig rescue. I was tentative because of the price, seemed too expensive. But after trying the 1st cut timothy hay, I was sold. I think KMS is great for the specific following reasons: 1. More softer, greener stems than I have experienced in the past with other brands. In turn, my piggies eat more of the hay creating less wasted hay and making the hay a better investment. 2. Lots of seed heads, which my piggies go crazy over. 3. I have never found anything other than hay in the KMS boxes. In the past with other brands, I have found dead bugs and large clumps of soil, not with KMS. 4. The 40 lb. boxes last me a long time, 3-6 months depending on how much they eat. I honestly feel like the quality of the KMS hay is what all hay sold to small animal owners should be! It is high quality and has helped me keep my piggies happy and healthy. Please view the photos of my sweet piggy Prado taking a much deserved nap in a big pile of KMS 1st cut timothy hay! He is obviously a fan.
My piggies are very picky eaters and will not eat most brands. I had a disabled rescued little boy who I had to syringe feed 100% because he would not eat any hay until I ordered from KMS Hayloft. I was amazed that he actually started eating hay on his own once I offered the 1st cut Timothy, 2nd cut Timothy, and his absolute favorite the Bluegrass hay. Now all my piggies are spoiled daily with these high quality hays. I cut the hay in smaller pieces for them but they eat every bit. I am so glad I discovered KMS Hayloft!!
